Administrative/Professional/Technical
Crew Members provide support to airport and flight operations in areas such as Finance/Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources and Marketing. The aviation industry is known for its airport and flight operations, but would find itself grounded without the leadership, expertise and support these positions provide.
Customer Service
Customer Service Airport Operations Crew Members work at the airport, serving our customers in a caring and professional manner. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: preparing and issuing tickets, computing fares, checking passports and travel documents, issuing refunds, checking baggage, working at arrival or departure gates, ensuring the on-time departures of aircraft, providing special assistance, answering general travel inquiries, and successfully resolving customer issues.

Customer Service Reservations/Call Center Crew Members sell AirTran Airways' service to prospective customers by answering incoming calls and assisting customers in reaching satisfactory solutions to their needs. They apply sales techniques while providing schedules, fares, and flight information to our customers in a manner that meets the standards of high customer service as outlined in the basic training and call handling guidelines.

Ground Operations
Ramp Agents are responsible for the safety of our customers and every crew member; loading and unloading baggage, mail and cargo; directing aircraft to and from gates; catering and cleaning of aircraft; lavatory service and operating ground equipment. Learn more about the Ramp Agent position.
Flight Operations
Flight Attendants deliver friendly, enthusiastic and professional service that has helped AirTran Airways become "America's Most Successful New Airline." Flight Attendants greet and serve passengers, while making safety the number one goal.
Pilots are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our aircraft and have full responsibility for the safety of the aircraft and its occupants. Our Pilots are responsible for the safe and economic operation and management of the aircraft from take-off to touch-down.
Systems Operation Control Crew Members monitor and control all AirTran Airways flight-related operations including on time performance, aircraft utilization and maintenance planning, crew rosters, route planning, compliance with FAA regulations and AirTran Standard Practices, aeronautical data, crew briefing, response to delays and passenger services.

Maintenance/Engineering
Crew Members are responsible for keeping aircraft in peak operating condition. Aircraft and avionics equipment mechanics and service technicians perform scheduled maintenance, make repairs, and complete inspections required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
